Claudia McClintock

Claudia’s membership as a Board member of PAI culminates full circle given her work and life experiences. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Miami University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Colorado – Denver. She has worked in the non-profit sector for over 25 years, holding a variety of fund development and leadership positions in the areas of education and human services; including the Colorado League of Charter Schools, Marillac Clinic, Child & Migrant Services and as a non-profit consultant. Claudia’s current work as supervisor of Mesa County Public Health’s main Covid-19 Information Line has proven meaningful and purposeful during this pandemic.

Claudia was first introduced to Domus Pacis Family Respite (DPFR)  in July 2016, when she and her late husband, David Pipe and their family were the grateful recipients of a respite stay in Breckenridge, CO. The impact of that experience on the family touched her deeply and she started volunteering as a member of DPFR’s Family Circle in her hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado. This developed into utilizing her skills as a member of the DPFR staff.

Working directly with families to overcome the real or perceived obstacles to participating in a respite stay resonated with her desire to honor Dave’s memory through her intentions and actions going forward. Her board work with Peace Alights Initiatives is the next step in realizing this dream. Claudia brings her passion to serve and extensive non-profit experience to Peace Alights Initiatives’ mission work, particularly in the start-up phase of non-profits.

Claudia is an energetic, outdoor enthusiast. When not guiding and engaging in the lives of her six children (five daughters, one son; ages 24–30) and two grandchildren (ages 2 and 3), she enjoys all manner of outdoor activities; hiking, biking, rafting, running, camping, and skiing. The only time she sits still is when reading or attending a live music performance. Claudia and her partner, John, enjoy travel that permits them to continue exploring places, culture, and people from which they can learn and grow.
